If you ask many people what their worst nightmare is?There are more than one will probably tell you to dive into a 40-meter deep pool, holding their breath.
But as human beings we are so diverse, there will always be someone who wants to do what we fear; in this case, Guillaume Néry, a specialist in this type of feats, was in charge of doing so, while his wife Julie Gautier recorded the video.
Guillaume Nery dives into the deepest pool in the world:
The video pool is called Deep Joy Y-40 and is located in Terme Millepini Hotel in Padua, Italy. The pool, which is 40 meters deep, is the deepest pool made by the human being.
In the video, we can see how Nery submerges without any breathing aid, simply holding the air. If you want to suffer a little, you can try to see the whole video above, while you hold your breath, to see if you can match the specialist.
On previous occasions, Nery has done similar things. In 2011, he managed to descend 117 meters in natural waters, almost three times deeper than this pool. The feat that Nery carried out in Kalamata, Greece, earned him the title of individual world champion in apnea.
But it seems that Nery does not settle easily: in 2013, he descended 125 meters with the air of a single breath. There is no doubt that the descent into this pool, which is still impressive, was not a big challenge for Guillaume. Nevertheless, the images, which were captured by his wife, who was also holding his breath, manage to make an amazing video, which almost brings us together with him, in a most private experience.
In 2014, a documentary called ” Attention – A Life in Extremes ” was released, about the personal perspective of extreme sports athletes who risk their lives in each performance. Although the documentary shows the sporting life at the highest point of its route, the human focus which the subject is faced is more than remarkable, making the documentary much more valuable.
